Bossa Nova. Nocturne. Saudade

Description

The nocturne Saudade is constituted by two contrasting moments: the first arouses serenity, placidity, sweetness, lyricism and intimacy; the second engenders vigor, intensity, strength, impetus and passion, to conclude in an emphatic and majestic finale. The rhythmic base of the work is inspired by the clave and rhythmic patterns of bossa nova, a genre characterized by evoking serenity, sensuality, melancholy… emotions associated with the Portuguese word saudade, which gives rise to the name of this composition.
