Philosophy

In pianistic interpretation I find a great opportunity to express my own voice through the pen of other creators, discovering in each work the emotional content that underlies it while trying to safeguard the composer's intention.

When the historical responsibility associated with the aesthetics, styles and personalities of the composers is added to their music, musicians are undoubtedly faced with a speculative world--which more than limitations, offers possibilities– where, as a performer, the pianist can set forth his knowledge, imagination and originality.

All of this is enriched by the link between the performer and his audience, each time he is able to genuinely stir their hearts through his performance.

Biography

Born on October 10, 1987 in the city of Medellín, he began his musical studies on the piano at the age of 8 at the Institute of Fine Arts in the same city under the guidance of Professor Giovanni Lezzurdi. Then at the age of 15, he continued his musical training with extension courses at the University of Antioquia with Jaime Malma and Omar Flores, before entering the preparatory school of that university under the pianistic tutoring of Arnaldo García and Martha Lucía González.

In 2006 he began his undergraduate studies in piano at the same university under the guidance of Consuelo Mejía, before moving on to the professorship of pianist Teresita Gómez, under whose guidance he obtained in 2014 the undergraduate degree of Master in Piano. In 2021, under the direction of Ana María Orduz, he obtained a Master’s degree in Music from Latin America and the Caribbean at the University of Antioquia with an emphasis on interpretation and composition, achieving the Suma Cum Laude distinction.
